Privacy Notice

Privacy Notice
The Vertex Ladder website is an informational site about a competitive gaming tournament. There are no user accounts, no sign up, no contact form and no purchases anywhere on it, so there is almost nothing for us to collect.
What we collect
- A single functional preference. If you answer the cookie banner, your browser stores one first party item in local storage, named
vx-cookie-choice, so we do not ask again. It holds the word accepted or declined and nothing else. It is not a personal identifier and it is never shared. - Standard technical server logs. Our web server records the requested address, a timestamp, the network address of the request and the browser user agent string. These logs exist to keep the site available and to investigate abuse. They are kept briefly, are not used to identify or profile visitors, and are not combined with anything else.
What we do not do
We run no analytics, no advertising cookies and no third party tracking of any kind. We embed no third party content, so nothing on these pages loads from another company's servers. We do not sell, rent or share visitor data, because we hold none to share.
Legal basis
We handle personal information in accordance with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy statutes. Under PIPEDA you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Your choices
You can decline on the cookie banner, in which case nothing beyond that single preference is stored. You can clear the stored preference at any time by clearing site data in your browser, and the banner will simply ask again on your next visit. Because we hold no account and no profile, there is normally nothing on file to access or erase.
Children
This is a public information site about a gaming tournament. It is not directed at collecting data from children, and it collects no personal data from any visitor of any age beyond the brief technical logs described above.
Changes
Any change to this notice is posted on this page with a new effective date.
